Incheon Airport Scraps Controversial Plan for Special Separate Celebrity Entrance

Must read

Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) announced on Sunday that it will not implement a dedicated entry gate for celebrities, which was set to take effect on Monday. This decision comes after carefully considering feedback from a parliamentary audit and media reports.

The IIAC stated, “We plan to develop alternative measures by thoroughly reviewing practices at airports worldwide and gathering sufficient public input to ensure the safety of airport users and prevent issues related to crowd congestion.”

The IIAC issued a press release addressing concerns about potential airport congestion and passenger inconvenience when celebrities with large followings depart. To ensure the safety of regular passengers, they established a procedure allowing such celebrities to use the existing crew and city airport exclusive entry.

The statement stressed, “This measure is not intended to benefit celebrities but to ensure the safety and convenience of all passengers in anticipation of on-site congestion. Only celebrities who have pre-registered security personnel will be eligible to apply for this procedure.”
