Following the nomination of his eldest daughter’s father-in-law as U.S. Ambassador to France, President-elect Donald Trump has appointed his youngest daughter’s father-in-law to a significant advisory role.

On Sunday, Trump took to his Truth Social platform to announce that he would appoint Lebanese-American Massad Boulos as his senior advisor on Arab and Middle Eastern affairs.

Trump described Boulos as “a capable attorney and a highly respected leader in the business community, with extensive international experience.” He added that this individual played a crucial role in forging new alliances with the Arab-American community during the presidential campaign.

Trump said, “Massad is a deal maker and a strong supporter of peace in the Middle East,” emphasizing that “he will strongly advocate for the United States and its interests.”

Massad Boulos, the father-in-law of Trump’s daughter Tiffany, was credited by American media for playing a pivotal role in strengthening support for Trump during the election by meeting multiple times with Arab and Muslim-American leaders.

The day before, Trump also announced that he would appoint his son-in-law Jared Kushner’s father, Charles Kushner, as the U.S. Ambassador to France.

Trump has been married three times and has five children: Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka, Eric, Tiffany, and Barron.

CNN reported that Trump’s decision to appoint the fathers-in-law of his two daughters to prominent positions signals that he will continue to rely on trusted family members in his second term, following the precedent set during his first term.

It also pointed out that Trump has long assigned political roles to his family members, a practice that has sparked ongoing controversy over conflicts of interest and nepotism.

During his first term from 2017 to 2021, Trump appointed his eldest daughter, Ivanka, and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, senior advisors in the White House, allowing them to influence key policies.

In the recent presidential campaign, his eldest son, Donald Jr., and second son, Eric, played prominent roles as his top representatives. Meanwhile, his second daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, was appointed co-chair of the Republican National Committee, where she helped lead his re-election campaign.
