Rosé of the K-pop group BLACKPINK is soaring with the success of her new single “APT.” In a recent interview with The New York Times, she shared how the music of many female artists helped her through tough times, offering solace and strength during her personal struggles.
In the interview published on Saturday, Rosé spoke candidly about her upcoming debut solo album. “I always dreamed of releasing an album, but I never thought it would actually happen,” she admitted. “When I started this journey last year, I was filled with self-doubt.”
Having begun her trainee life at YG Entertainment at just 15 years old, Rosé opened up about the emotional challenges she faced early in her career. “I couldn’t comprehend the loneliness I had to endure. It was a massive shock, but I survived,” she shared. Reflecting on her debut with BLACKPINK, she continued, “The first few years were incredibly tough personally, but gradually, I learned how to navigate this new world.”
Despite building a successful career, Rosé has faced challenges beyond her professional growth, including harassment aimed at female artists, particularly online. She explained, “I’m pretty strong-willed and don’t want to respond emotionally, but when it actually happened, it really upset me.”
Looking forward, Rosé is set to release her highly anticipated solo album Rosie on December 6, marking a major milestone in her career as a solo artist.
