YG Entertainment’s chief producer, Yang Hyun Suk, has unveiled the roadmap for the second half of the year for BabyMonster and Treasure.
On the 20th, YG Entertainment posted an interview video with chief producer Yang on their official blog titled “BabyMonster / Treasure| YG ANNOUNCEMENT (2024 Release Plan).”
Yang, who is in charge of YG’s creative fields including their music, has reportedly increased the number of in-house producers from about 10 earlier this year to 40~50. This has boosted the speed of BabyMonster’s first full album. Yang said, “We will definitely release a full album around September or October,” and revealed, “Before that, we plan to pre-release a new song in early July.”
They will also present a performance video of the track “LIKE THAT” from the debut album in May. As the song that American pop singer Charlie Puth personally gifted BabyMonster, it received great love with a charm different from the title song “SHEESH.”
Treasure is also preparing a tight schedule leading to an album release after announcing a new song. Yang said, “Treasure is very busy with their Asia tour, but fortunately, there is a gap of about 2~3 weeks. I am glad that we can introduce a new song.”
Yang introduced, “I think it would be very different from the songs they have released so far. The keyword KING KONG itself is strong, so they will express the energy that includes a powerful performance.” He then asked for support, adding, “I promise to do my best to produce Treasure’s album that will be released this fall.”
Meanwhile, Treasure will release the digital single “KING KONG” at 6 PM KST on the 28th. They are also on a second Asian tour that spans five cities and nine performances. BabyMonster is expanding its global base through a fan meeting tour, and the first performance in Tokyo recorded a sell-out of 26,000 seats, including the additionally opened seats.
