On the 30th, North Korea launched over 10 short-range ballistic missiles into the East Sea.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff announced, “Around 6:14 this morning, we detected over 10 projectiles presumed to be short-range ballistic missiles (SRBM) launched from the Sunan regions in Pyongyang into the East Sea.” The mass firing of ballistic missiles by North Korea is considered unusual.
The military is currently analyzing the details such as the type of missile and its flight distance.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff stated, “While enhancing surveillance and vigilance for additional launches, The military is maintaining full preparation by closely sharing information related to North Korea’s ballistic missiles with U.S. and Japanese authorities.”
Just three days after the failed attempt to launch a military reconnaissance satellite on the night of the 27th, which ended in a mid-air explosion, North Korea engaged in provocation once again. Since the night of the 28th, they have been continuing their protests against South Korea by various means, including sending balloons carrying garbage.
