A Chinese woman, who nearly lost her life five years ago when her husband pushed her off a cliff in Thailand, has revisited the scene of the incident to express her gratitude to those who saved her.
According to the South China Morning Post (SCMP) on May 9th, Wang Nuannuan (alias) confessed on social media about an incident in June 2019. She claimed that during a visit to Pha Taem National Park in Thailand, her husband pushed her off a cliff that was 111.5 feet high. Despite suffering major injuries, including the fracture of 17 bones, Wang survived the fall. However, she lost her three-month-old unborn child due to the accident. After the incident, she underwent several surgeries and focused on rehabilitation for years to regain her ability to walk.
Wang revisited Pha Taem National Park in April to express her gratitude to the locals who saved her. She hugged them with tears of joy. “The unexpected death of a friend’s mother made me think a lot,” said Wang. “I didn’t want to have any regrets, so I wanted to meet the people who helped me.” She continued, “I thought I would have the courage to return here in 10 or 20 years, but that’s too long. No one knows what the future holds.”
Wang’s husband, Yu Xiaodong, was sentenced to 33 years and four months in prison by a Thai court in June 2023. Wang claimed that her husband committed the crime to pay off his gambling debts. Wang, who is in the trading business, is known to have assets worth billions.
