On the 14th, the medical student, Mr. Choi (25), who stabbed and killed his girlfriend on the rooftop of a building near Gangnam Station in Seoul, was handed over to the prosecution. Mr. Choi boarded the escort vehicle without answering any questions from the press. The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency plans to conduct a psychopathy diagnostic test on Mr. Choi following his transfer to the prosecution.
The Seocho Police Station in Seoul transferred Mr. Choi, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office that morning. Mr. Choi left the police station detention center around 8:40 am and did not respond to questions from the press.
Previously, Mr. Choi was arrested on suspicion of causing the death of his girlfriend, who was the same age, by wielding a weapon on the rooftop of a building near Gangnam Station in Seocho-gu around 5 pm on the 6th. During the police investigation, Mr. Choi confessed that he committed the crime in response to his girlfriend’s proposition to break up.
The police believe that he had planned the crime. He purchased the weapon at a supermarket in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, two hours before the crime, and changed his clothes immediately after the incident. He kept the clothes he had been wearing in a bag. It was reported that he admitted to the planned crime during the investigation process.
However, the police did not disclose Mr. Choi’s personal information due to the family’s concern that the victim’s information could be indiscriminately disseminated through the release of Mr. Choi’s personal information.
