Miami Heist: $1.75 Million of Hermes Stolen in Just 43 Seconds

Luxury handbags worth about $1.75 million were stolen in just 43 seconds from a store at a five-star hotel in Miami Beach, Florida.

On the 22nd (local time), NBC reported that the theft occurred at a hotel in South Beach Miami on March 19th. The hotel had Hermes bags worth tens of millions of won on display.

Around 2:45 AM on the day of the incident, CCTV footage from the store captured two masked men entering with a large trash can and sweeping up the displayed bags. In just 43 seconds, they stole about 60 Hermes products, totaling $1.75 million. The bags are high-end products with prices ranging from $10,000 to $450,000. The police dispatched after receiving a call from the store at around 3 AM tracked down the license plate of the getaway vehicle, arresting one of the thieves, Eduardo Garcia. The local media reported that Garcia, who escaped in an orange Hyundai Santa Fe, was also involved in a jewelry store robbery that occurred ten days before this incident.

Police are currently searching for the other suspect and the stolen bags.
