Alexander Zverev, the third-ranked player in the world, has become the player with the most wins on the ATP Tour this season.
Zverev captured the Paris Masters singles title on Monday following 6-2, 6-2 victory over, France’s Hugo HHumbert, who is ranked 187th. This win makes Zverev the second German player to clinch the Paris Masters title, following the legendary Boris Becker, who won the event three times.
With this victory, Zverev has achieved his 66th win of the season against 20 losses, placing him at the top of the ATP win leaderboard. Italy’s Jannik Sinner, the current world No. 1, is close behind with 65 wins and 6 losses. Zverev’s triumph at the Paris Masters also marks his seventh title in the Masters 1000 series, tying him for eighth place on the all-time list. The Masters 1000 series ranks just below Grand Slam tournaments in prestige. Serbia’s Novak Djokovic holds the record for the most Masters titles with 40, followed by Spain’s Rafael Nadal with 36, and the retired Roger Federer of Switzerland with 28.
This latest triumph is set to elevate Zverev from No. 3 to No. 2 in the world rankings, pushing Carlos Alcaraz down to third place.
