U.S. President Donald Trump has repealed federal regulations that limited the water pressure of household showerheads.
According to the Wall Street Journal, on Wednesday, President Trump signed an executive order titled “Make America’s showers great again.” The regulation limiting showerhead pressure was originally introduced during the Obama administration to conserve water. Although Trump loosened the rule during his first term, it was reinstated under former President Joe Biden. While signing the new order in the Oval Office, Trump stated that he wants to enjoy a good shower to take care of his beautiful hair, adding that it takes at least 15 minutes under the showerhead just to get his hair wet properly.
Trump claimed that regulations enacted under former Presidents Obama and Biden had negatively impacted consumers. In the executive order, he described water pressure limits as government overreach and asserted that the federal government should not interfere with which showerheads Americans—who pay for their water—choose to use.
